a past to be remembered ...

石盧(Shek Lo) was the place where I've spent 7 years of my life since I was born. This was my grandfather's big mansion in the countryside of Hong Kong. The little hut on the huge fish pond is basically a public toilet for the huge garden (park?). I really think that this was the best part of my life to spend my childhood in this magnificient colonial period house (with a strange mixture of western and Chinese style). This house has now been left empty and derelict. This place will be redeveloped. Feel so sad for losing it from my family.

However, I am so glad that I could have spent part of my life with my grandparents in this big house. My grandfater died at 93 when I was about 7. I really wish that I could "talk" with him for myself being an adult.

On the left is my great grandfather's charcoal portrait which was hanged in the downstair living room. That room was surrounded with many traditional Chinese furnitures and fittings.

My great grandfather passed away in this house and someone said he saw "him" ... of course I am talking about ghost! So when I was little I was afraid of going behind the huge staircase where it was cool and dark. Oh well, I still miss Shek Lo a lot because it just gave a child so much imagination and fun. In fact I love this portrait a lot because my great grandfather just looks so warm and friendly.
